Beijing - Wednesday
Today we took a 3 hour plane flight to Beijing from Hong Kong. When we arrived we entered a huge airport terminal which we heard was now the biggest terminal in the world. Our guide, Jonathon, met us and drove us to our hotel. He told us we were free tonight, so we just walked around the area. Everyone here is very proud that they are hosting the Olympics. Not as many people speak English here, but they are all friendly & helpful in spite of the language barrier. Still very crowded with people, and lots more bikes on the streets. After our walk we went to a dumpling restaurant and the dumplings were really, really good. Now I'm sleepy, so it's off to take a shower & go to bed. We'll be touring all day tomorrow.

Andy,
We've met a couple times and work with your Dad and used to work with your Mom. I know you are excited to be on this trip and your parents have been SO excited that you are getting to go see where you were born. What are the cities like and how is your nose?? I hope that you are taking tons of pictures. Are you able to post any online? There are several of us here at the office that are reading your blog and it is interesting to see China through your eyes. Have lots of fun!!
Hey Andy,
I have been trying to blog back to you every day, but I couldn't figure it out until Sandy showed me how! That's what happens when you get to be my age :-) So how is the trip?? Sorry to hear about your nose bleed! Hope you haven't had any more. So is China 15 hours ahead of us or behind us? How does the dollar compare to their money over there? I have so many questions....can't wait to see some pictures.
Brenda
Hi Andy:
It sounds like your trip is wonderful. I hope you're getting enough to eat. If you see anything cute, GET IT FOR ME! (Just kidding.) Vicki is interviewing to possibly teach overseas. Today she is thinking she'd like India the best. Tell your Mom and Dad hi from me. I hope you don't get any more nose bleeds. Oh, Joey finally found a job! Woo Hoo.
Keep us posted on things. I'll check your blog every day.
Lots of love,
Aunt Chris
